Recovery Insurance

Suffering a serious illness can have a devastating effect on you and your family. And when you’re concentrating on getting better, the last thing you want to worry about is how you’ll cope financially.

How can Recovery Insurance help?

  • If you’re diagnosed with any of 45 defined serious medical conditions, such as cancer or a heart attack, you’ll receive a lump sum payment that you can use for anything you like.
  • You can use your lump sum to cover medical treatment, finance in-home care or pay off debt. You might use it to fly family in from overseas for support, or fund a lifestyle change so you can reduce the hours you work. The choice is yours.
  • If your spouse is not in paid employment, they can take out Recovery Insurance, as cover is not based on income or the ability to earn.
  • Recovery Insurance provides a partial payment to cover your children, aged between three and 18 years, for 18 defined serious medical conditions – at no extra cost.
  • While MAS Income Security covers up to 75 per cent of your income, Recovery Insurance pays a lump sum which can help make up the difference or cover any extra expenses that may occur as a result of your serious illness.
  • If you’re in business, Key Person Recovery Insurance can help protect your business interests if any of your colleagues suffers a serious illness.
