It’s crunch time. You know what that means? The finish line is in sight and a well-deserved break is coming. But exam season can send even the most well-prepped student into a frenzy. So if you’re feeling frantic – breathe. We’ve got your back.
Like most things, the earlier you start studying, the better. But getting organised takes discipline. A template with key dates and exam timings is a great place to start. Check out this downloadable calendar for more ways to maximise your time.
Are you an early bird, a night owl or somewhere in between? When planning your study slots, it pays to know when you work best. Try studying at different times – being mindful of your productivity levels. Find your power hour and use it wisely.
Hitting the books old-school style doesn’t always stick. We all learn differently. So why not find what works for you? Whether you learn best by listening, watching doing or writing – studying in the way you’re wired to will be much less of a drag.
Being tucked up in the library is great for that pin-drop atmosphere. But research shows changing where you study improves memory retention. Your brain makes connections between your surroundings and what you’re studying – so get out there.
The importance of taking care of yourself can’t be stressed enough. So fuel your learning with good snacks, keep up your exercise routine and take regular breaks from the books. Half an hour of focus is better than 8 hours staring at a blank page.
You know it’s not going to be easy. So it’s up to you to help yourself so you have the best chance to ace your exams – without burning out in the process. Now breathe. You’ve got this.
