Major life events often mean you need to increase your Life Insurance. In the following circumstances you can purchase additional cover, irrespective of your state of health:

Marriage
Divorce
Having a child (by birth or adoption)
Becoming a full time carer for the first time
Death of your spouse
Effecting or increasing your mortgage
Entering private practice or becoming a partner or director in a company for the first time.

Order of dissolution of marriage or civil union.

Declaration that you were living in a de facto relationship that has separated.

Please note that we will require supporting evidence of adoption or natural birth of a child. After you submit your enquiry, one of our Member Support Team will be in touch, and may request this.

Evidence provided can be:

Birth certificate for the child or adoption papers.

Please note that we will require supporting evidence of becoming a full-time carer, for the first time, of a close relative. After you submit your enquiry, one of our Member Support Team will be in touch, and may request this.

Statutory Declaration or court papers.

Please note that we will require supporting evidence of effecting a mortgage of more than $25,000 or increasing an existing mortgage by more than $25,000, secured against a primary residence. After you submit your enquiry, one of our Member Support Team will be in touch, and may request this.

Evidence provided can be:

Settlement statement, loan statement or summary of loan details.

Please note that we will require supporting evidence of entering private practice, where an insured person becomes self-employed for the first time and incurs debts and liabilities in relation to the establishment and ongoing operation of that practice or business. After you submit your enquiry, one of our Member Support Team will be in touch, and may request this.

Evidence provided can be:

Practice or partnership agreement, certificate of incorporation, or a letter confirming appointments.

Please note that we will require supporting evidence of becoming a partner in a firm or director in a company, where an insured person becomes self-employed for the first time and incurs debts and liabilities in relation to the establishment and ongoing operation of that practice or business. After you submit your enquiry, one of our Member Support Team will be in touch, and may request this.
